12 working tips
It does not always succeed to work smoothly and fast as well as to finish all the works at time and accomplish the orders of the clients. It usually happens that some obstacles occur or there is no mood to work, etc. There will be suggested some advices how to organize your activities and make your work profitable.
-
Don‘t do the things you don‘t want to do. Forcing yourself to do the things you don‘t want to do may lead to nothing, but bad results. Engage yourself into the other subject that day, the thing you like and want to do.
-
Plan your work, make a “to-do list“. The efficient day is already a step forward. To achieve this you have to plan your day including the pending works. First of all you should write down all the woks which are the essential ones and need to be done in order to reach your final goal. Mention the things need to be done, e.g., projects, learning some new things, subjects and so on. Write down all the works chronologically from the most to the least important ones but no mentioning of concrete dates. Concrete dates would only put a charge on you and will set a kind of frames.
-
Never interrupt your main work with the any by-works. To be more precise, don’t check your e-mail every 15 minutes, unless you are waiting for the very important letter. Going to some forums and checking for the new posts or alike is just wasting of your precious time. It is better to set some certain time for doing such things. Let’s say you have done two items of the whole “to-do list” and then you are able to browse the things you need to check.
-
Do not keep too much open unnecessary windows – this only distracts your attention. The best solution is to transfer all of them to the other desktop, what is possible to do with Windows OS as well. Do not keep the additional open tabs in your Internet browser.
-
Do not “Google”. That is, it can happen so, that while searching for some certain decisions or frazes in “google” you can start wandering through the pages which are not concerned with the subject you were looking for. It is also the wasting of time. You could get some extra knowledge from that, but it is better to set time for that not suspending your current work.
-
Try to convince yourself that you will be payed for your hard work, though there are some works which do not attract and there is no intention to do them.
-
Look for challenges. It is said that programmers just hate their job, the programming in itself. Certainly, it is true. The 3 main things can console you and compensate the work made. That is, the work, appreciation, knowing that everything was made by yourself and realization how much you can already do, and a challenge as well. If the work you have to do is hard – imagine it as the challenge to your own capabilities.
-
Listen to what are the others talking about you, to their advices. The greater the opinion of you from the point of others, the more chances to be appreciated and valued you have and this can determine your opportunities in getting a better job.
-
Participate in some discussions in your free time, though there is not much of it. The main point here is trying to help or advise somebody in that way showing your level of knowledge. You might mistake, but even the fact that you are acknowledged with the topic is valued by the others.
-
Something got you mad? Here some items from the first point could suit. The thing is that you have to get rid off your bad mood as soon as you can. Try to chat with your friends, listen to the relaxing or your favorite music, watch some funny movies in “YouTube” and so on. After the recovering you are about to go on with your works.
-
As the rule, the best thoughts come to head at night, or late evening. It is true in fact, because then it is calm, nobody disturbs you, the events of the past day arise. It is good to write down all the thoughts on a sheet of paper and think them over in the morning. Sometimes it can help to plan you further works.
-
Take a deep rest. It is evident, that our brain need to rest.
Well, that is about all. Just try to do the above mentioned points and you will probably succeed.
